Experience the Imperial Gala Concert at Vienna’s Palais Auersperg

Travel back to imperial Vienna with the Imperial Gala Concert and enjoy a true “best‑of concert” featuring the finest works by Mozart, the Waltz King Johann Strauss, Vivaldi, and many more inside the historic Palais Auersperg.

This baroque jewel in the heart of the city once hosted legendary composers such as Mozart and Strauss and is the exclusive venue for this special concert series. The event offers a complete experience, combining musical artistry with optional fine dining in a breathtaking centuries‑old setting.

The concert and its programme

The Imperial Gala Concert presents a “best‑of” program of classical music, showcasing timeless masterpieces from the golden age of Viennese music. The program is based on the works of iconic composers who have a direct connection to Palais Auersperg:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Enjoy iconic works such as Eine kleine Nachtmusik and the dazzling “Queen of the Night” aria from The Magic Flute. Mozart himself conducted the Viennese premiere of his opera Idomeneo at Palais Auersperg in 1786.

Drawn portrait of Johann Strauss with signature

Johann Strauss II

The “Waltz King,” who performed frequently at Palais Auersperg, is represented with lively waltzes, polkas and marches — including The Blue Danube, the Emperor Waltz, the Radetzky March, and many more.

The performance lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a 15‑minute intermission. It is accompanied by a charming, humorous, and knowledgeable English‑speaking host. In addition to the orchestra, internationally acclaimed sopranos, pianists, and the Vienna Royal Ballet perform exclusive choreographies to the music.
